چکیده
A simple hybrid thermoelectric-magnetocaloric (TE-MC) system is analytically and numerically simulated using the working parameters of commercial Peltier cells properties a material with first-order low-hysteresis magneto-structural phase transition as La(Fe,Mn,Si)13H1.65. The need for new master equation heat diffusion introduced to deal these materials. solved by Crank–Nicolson finite difference method. results are compared those corresponding pure TE MC ideal thermal diodes. acts “elevator” adapt its temperature cold or hot source making very efficient. efficiency realistic improved at least 30% over same current supply similar diodes cooling power.

Taming the first-order transition in giant magnetocaloric materials.
Large magnetically driven temperature changes are observed in MnFe(P,Si,B) materials simultaneously with large entropy changes, limited (thermal or magnetic) hysteresis, and good mechanical stability. The partial substitution of B for P in MnFe(P,Si) compounds is found to be an ideal parameter to control the latent heat observed at the Curie point without deteriorating the magnetic properties, ...
متن کاملLarge low field magnetocaloric effect in first-order phase transition compound TlFe3Te3 with low-level hysteresis
Magnetic refrigeration based on the magnetocaloric effect (MCE) is an environment-friendly, high-efficiency technology. It has been believed that a large MCE can be realized in the materials with a first-order magnetic transition (FOMT). Here, we found that TlFe3Te3 is a ferromagnetic metal with a first-order magnetic transition occurring at Curie temperature TC = 220 K. The maximum values of m...
متن کاملA sign of field-induced first order magnetic state transition and giant reversible magnetocaloric effect in cobalt hydroxide nanosheets
We report the synthesis of β−Co(OH)2 nanosheets using microwave assisted hydrothermal and conventional chemical reaction methods. A magnetic transition at an onset temperature, T1 ~ 96 K, and a sign of antiferromagnetic state transition at the Néel temperature, TN=9~10 K, can be determined from M-T curves and M-H curves magnetic properties investigation. It is found that a sign of field-induced...
متن کاملChange in entropy at a first-order magnetoelastic phase transition: Case study of Gd5„SixGe1Àx...4 giant magnetocaloric alloys
The change in entropy, DS , at the first-order magnetoelastic phase transition in Gd5(SixGe12x)4 alloys for x<0.5 has been measured with a high-sensitivity differential scanning calorimeter with built-in magnetic field, H. Scaling of DS is achieved by changing the transition temperature, Tt , with x and H from 70 to 310 K. Tt is thus the relevant parameter in determining the giant magnetocalori...
متن کاملTunable magnetocaloric effect in transition metal alloys
The unpredictability of geopolitical tensions and resulting supply chain and pricing instabilities make it imperative to explore rare earth free magnetic materials. As such, we have investigated fully transition metal based "high entropy alloys" in the context of the magnetocaloric effect. We find the NiFeCoCrPdx family exhibits a second order magnetic phase transition whose critical temperatur...
